MnDOT to host May 14 virtual public meeting for Hwy 212 and Hwy 5 project in Eden Prairie

ROSEVILLE, Minn. —The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host a May 14 virtual meeting to discuss the upcoming Hwy 212 and Hwy 5 improvement project in Eden Prairie.

The online meeting is from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, beginning with a project presentation by MnDOT staff and followed by a time for submitted questions. Find a link to the virtual meeting shortly before the meeting time on the project webpage at mndot.gov/metro/projects/hwy212-hwy5edenprairie/.

A recorded presentation describing the project will be posted on the project webpage following the event.

As part of the project, crews will repair concrete, pave shoulders and update guardrails on Hwy 212 and Hwy 5 between Eden Prairie Road and Interstate 494 in Eden Prairie. The project will last from June through September 2025.

Motorists can expect ramp, shoulder and lane closures during construction. Crews will work on one direction (eastbound or westbound) at a time, closing one to two lanes and leaving one lane open. There will be two weekend closures of Hwy 5, with traffic detoured using Hwy 41 and Hwy 212. The ramp from Mitchell Road to westbound Highway 5 will be closed for the duration of the project.

All traffic impacts are tentative and weather dependent.
