Highway 61 work at McQuade Road north of Duluth starts May 5
DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be starting work on the Highway 61 expressway just south of McQuade Road north of Duluth on May 5. This project will construct a temporary wall at the outlet of the Talmadge River to support the embankment. Motorists can expect a northbound right lane closure through mid-June.

- Obey posted speed limits. The fine for speeding in a work zone is $300.
- Drive undistracted. Avoid using cell phones, mobile devices, adjusting the radio – even eating –while in work zones.
- Move over. Give workers room to safely complete their work.
