Hwy 2 construction near Bemidji begins August 18

Motorists will detour for approximately 4 days during each segment of culvert replacements

BEMIDJI, Minn. — According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Hwy 2 culvert replacement project near Bemidji will begin on August 18. Motorists will detour for approximately four days during the construction of each segment:

August 18: Hwy 2 westbound lanes centerline culvert replacement from Washington Ave SE to Division Street

Detour: Washington Ave SE (Hwy 197) to Division Street (Fifth Street)

August 25: Hwy 2 eastbound lanes culvert replacement from Washington Ave SE to Hubbard County Road 36

Detour: Hwy 71 south, Beltrami Line Road, Hubbard County Road 36

Each project will be detoured for approximately 4 days. Thru traffic will not be allowed to ensure safety of the workers. The project is expected to be complete late-August, weather permitting.
