Public invited to learn about future Hwy 210 project from Crosby to Deerwood on Oct. 29
SBAXTER, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to learn about a future road construction project planned for Hwy 210 (Hwy 6) from Crosby to Deerwood.
An open house-style event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 4-6 p.m. at Deerwood City Hall (auditorium and community center), 23770 Forest Rd. There will be no formal presentation—just stop by at your convenience to view project layouts, ask questions, and speak with members of the MnDOT project team.
Preliminary design work will continue through 2027, followed by the completion of final design and traffic plans in 2028. Construction is scheduled in 2029 and will require a detour.
Key project improvements
Crosby to Deerwood
- Resurface Hwy 210 from east of Third Avenue East in Crosby to East Broadway in Deerwood and from Ruggles Avenue to east of Hwy 6 in Deerwood (Figure 1: Project map)
- Repair or replace drainage pipes or ditches
- Install pavement markings and rumble/mumble strips
- Update or repair guardrail
Deerwood
Reconstruct and update the road surface and adjacent entrances from East Broadway to Ruggles Avenue, including the intersection of Hwy 210 (Hwy 6) and Crow Wing County Road 12 (Figure 1: Project map)
- Replace or repair underground stormwater structures, curb and gutter
- Upgrade or add pedestrian sidewalks, approaches and crossings
