MnDOT staff will be on hand to explain the project and answer questions including community and traffic impacts, overall design and the proposed construction schedule. Four-dimensional computer modeling will be used to illustrate the future highway look and layout.
The four-year project will convert the existing at-grade intersections at 99th Ave., 105th Ave., 109th Ave. and 117th Ave./Cloud Dr. into interchanges, with Hwy 65 traveling above.
The project also includes a pedestrian bridge across the new freeway between 113th and 114th Avenues, rerouting existing local street/driveway connections using frontage/backage roads between 97th Ave. and 125th Ave. along with reconstructing existing sidewalk along the road to meet Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards.
When completed in fall 2029, this project will provide a smoother road surface and extend pavement life, enhance accessibility, reduce congestion, improve traffic flow and improve safety along the road.
