No travel advisory lifted on Highway 60 in South Central Minnesota
Strong winds and reduced visibility continue
MANKATO, Minn. – (9:20 a.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation will lift the No Travel Advisory at 9:30 am today for Highway 60 between Butterfield and Heron Lake in South Central Minnesota.
The highway has been under a no travel advisory since Friday evening due to blowing snow and reduced visibility.
Motorists should use extreme caution when traveling as visibility remains reduced, particularly in open areas without windbreaks. Motorists are advised to slow down, drive for the conditions, and avoid stopping in traffic lanes if they encounter poor visibility. They should instead continue moving at a reduced speed or safely pull onto the shoulder if necessary. Stopping in the traffic lanes creates hazardous conditions for all travelers.
