Overnight I-394 road, lane closures in Minneapolis scheduled for March 16-21
Closures and lane reductions will allow crews to safely work on Penn Avenue bridge deck; I-394 project continues through November
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Interstate I-394 between downtown Minneapolis and Highway 100 will have overnight closures and lane reductions the week of March 16 as part of a Minnesota Department of Transportation I-394 construction project. The closures will allow crews to safely work on the Penn Avenue bridge deck.
Westbound I-394 overnight closures begin March 16
Westbound I-394 between downtown Minneapolis and Highway 100 will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday, March 16 through Wednesday, March 18. The westbound lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 18.
The westbound I-394 detour uses I-94, I-694 and Highway 169.
Eastbound I-394 lane reductions begin March 18
Eastbound I-394 will be reduced to a single lane each night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Wednesday, March 18 through Saturday, March 21. The eastbound lanes will reopen 6 a.m. Saturday, March 21.

About this project
MnDOT is repairing 34 bridges and ramps along I-394 and I-94 between downtown Minneapolis and Highway 100. This project includes maintenance of the Dunwoody Boulevard ramp, replacing the deck for the Penn Avenue bridge that crosses over I-394 and other improvements. Ongoing traffic impacts will be announced throughout the construction season.
