Bridge Investment Program
The Bridge Investment Program (BIP) provides financial assistance for a project to replace, rehabilitate, preserve, or protect one or more bridges on the National Bridge Inventory (NBI) under 23 United States Code (U.S.C.) 144(b).
There are two funding categories:
- Planning
- Bridge project grants (a project with total eligible costs not greater than $100 million) for awards under the BIP.
Minimum construction grant award is $2.5 million and maximum is 80 percent of total eligible costs. Maximum planning grant award is 80 percent of eligible project costs.
- Deadline for planning grant applications is June 15, 2026
- Deadline for construction grants is June 29, 2026
