MnDOT will resurface and improve Hwy 6 from the Roosevelt Lake bridge, just north of Cass Co. Rd. 58, in Outing and Hwy 200 in Remer in 2026. Project requires a detour to replace underground pipes.
Summary of work
- Resurface 17 miles of road, includes shoulders and turn lanes
- Replace or repair drainage pipes, includes ditches
- Realign and improve access at Cass Co. Rd. 7
- Upgrade guardrail, includes Roosevelt Lake bridge
- Install road markings and mumble strips
Traffic impacts

- Alternate one-way traffic with flaggers and pilot car
- Detour necessary for about a week to replace underground drainage pipes. Detour via Co. Rd. 1 Emily, Co. Rd. 3 (Grove St.), Hwy 169 Waukenabo to Hwy 200 Hill City, back to Hwy 6 Remer.
- Access detour may occur to work at Co. Rd. 7
- Other impacts yet to be determined
